Clare Di Liscia was born in Queens, New York to Michael Di Liscia, a professor of Sociology and his wife Rosemary, a school administrator.
She grew up in Southern California, enjoying the outdoors, swimming, horseback riding and ice-skating. Traveling extensively throughout South America and the Caribbean, Clare started creating stories to fill her imagination and could oftentimes be found with her nose in a book.
For University, Clare attended KU Leuven, in Belgium where she studied Dutch and French as well as develop an appreciation for art and history. Instead of continuing her studies at the Sorbonne, Clare returned to the Untied States and enrolled in Film School, earning Dean's List recognition and a BA in screenwriting. In 2006 she placed in the prestigious Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting.
After joining SCBWI, Clare won 1st place HM in the Sue Alexander for her YA novel, OUTCAST.
